POTTERY CARE LIST

Ceramic pottery care notes

Most of our pottery are handmade and each product is expertly crafted by our experienced potters. We preserve the pottery’s natural texture to suit all East Asian and Western food dishes.

Health Safe:

Pottery products are highly durable and overall safe for your health. From being fired at 1280°C or higher, this makes it safe from harmful heavy metals such as lead and cadmium. Also, as the material does not absorb moisture, detergent will not seep into the fine holes; therefore, you can maintain its hygiene.

Dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe:

Pottery products can be used in dishwashers and microwaves. However, it is recommended to use: for shorter periods of time because repeated use can weaken the durability of the bowl and cause scratches. In addition, over heating the product can lead to risk of burns. Do not use bare hands when handling hot product. Please avoid rapid temperature changes, such as moving it from a hot oven to a cold environment (cool it in the room temperature).

Pottery is not a cooking product, so do not use fire directly. When using in the oven, please use it for heating, not cooking. (Recommended time: Within 5 minutes)

Using with metal:

If you use metal cooking utensils, spoons, chopsticks, or iron scrubbers, there is a risk of product damage especially with matte style pottery.  They are relatively vulnerable to scratches, so please ensure caution while using these types of utensils.

Pottery washing:

After receiving the product, special cleaning is not needed. Simply wash it lightly with a neutral detergent and running water. We recommend using a soft sponge when washing. Avoid submerging in water for a long time and dry it sufficiently after washing.

Pottery washing with the strings/ropes attached:

When washing, avoid submerging in water and wash it immediately after use if there is food stains on the strings/ropes. If the stains remain after washing as above, we suggest using warm water + vinegar + neutral detergent and a soft brush to remove the stains. For red pepper paste stains, dry the pottery directly in the sun light after washing per the instructions above.
